Corrosion Protection

A base material selected for its properties (e.g. weight, formability, strength, machinability, cost-effectiveness) usually does not have the desired properties in terms of wear, friction, corrosion, paint adhesion, electrical conductivity or insulation, reflection and especially decoration.

Only the properties of the base material together with the corresponding properties of the galvanic surface result in a composite material that meets the required profile of the components as a whole.

A pretreatment process adapted to the base material prepares the workpiece for the actual electroplating process. The metal to be deposited is selected according to the required profile of the component, and electroplated, time or current dependent, based on the required coating thickness.

Galvanically produced surfaces with copper, nickel and chrome or precious metal not only give the component a value-enhancing appearance, but also perform functional tasks such as corrosion resistance. In the case of metallized plastics, a metallic feel can be created so that, in addition to the pure intrinsic value, the lasting value of the components is also increased.

The vibrancy of a component is created by the color shade and / or the gloss level of the surface produced. Thus, the color scale of the depositable metals ranges from a highly reflective, seemingly bright chrome surface to a surface appearing to be non-reflective and highly technical. This effect is generated by the underlying nickel coating, which can be adjusted to the desired degree of gloss or matteness depending on the requirements. The same applies to the final surfaces with precious metals such as gold.
