Cracked or torn surface(s)
This can have various causes:
Possible chipping of the surface, e.g. zinc-nickel surfaces that are bent/formed after coating. This can be avoided by using a formable zinc-nickel coating, such as zinc-nickel FleXXKorr, as the flexible, ductile surface allows forming.
In the case of metal-plastic joints with aluminium or hybrid components, the applied anodised layer may crack due to processes carried out after the coating. The cause of this cracking is the mechanical load that deforms the aluminium. This can be avoided by anodising at the end of the production process, at the end of the value chain. With this anodised surface (Eloxal Individual Hybrid), optical defects from the previous mechanical processing steps are also eliminated.
