Brass

Galvanic brass coating is an alloy deposition that is mainly used for decorative applications. Since a brass surface reacts with the atmospheric oxygen and would darken after some time (similar to the darkening of a copper gutter), a subsequent coating with tarnish protection or clear varnish is necessary. Preserving with wax as a natural substance is also possible.

Brass plating of workpieces is useful, among other things, for workpieces whose production from solid brass would be too complex or too costly.

By a further post-treatment with special colorants, a used-look antique or a dark bronze tone (old brass) can be achieved. Again, a subsequent varnishing or the like is required. Post-treatment as described above is necessary.
